Upstairs is sweltering while downstairs is freezing.

I really wish that we had a forced air system in our house because the varying temperatures drive me crazy.

I swear that I have to have two different wardrobes just to go from one floor to the next in our house.

When I wake up in the morning, I have no idea how cold it will be when I go downstairs to make coffee. Upstairs it is warm and comfortable but downstairs it is normally cold. By the time I get coffee started my feet feel like ice cubes. I really think that if we had a forced air system with zone control we could keep the house at a constant temperature no matter where we were. We could have two separate thermostats to control the system. Right now we only have one and it is located too close to the radiator. It reads that the temperature is fine but it is definitely not. I am going to contact someone soon to come take a look at the system we have and see if there is a way to control the temperature better. I know it may not be the best choice to replace the entire system but I am wondering if we can at least add more zones to the one we have. We currently have baseboard heating and a couple of radiator type units upstairs. This is a hot water system that has no ductwork. Installing a completely new type of heating could be very costly. There is another plus to that though, we could include air conditioning which we don’t currently have. There are a lot of choices to be made and we really need a professional to guide us through the process for sure.
